Simple and easy Linen Closet Organization

A linen closet is a great place to get your organizing feet wet. It can be a simple to complete job which could give you the satisfaction of a job very well done quickly. That is of course if all that is within your linen closet is linen. If your linen closet has got to also function as a towel, cleaning goods or whatever else storage as well - the first step is to evaluate if there is actually space for all you would like to place in there and if there's a better area for many of the items.

Once you have decided what role the linen closet is going to have, choose what style of linen closet organizer is going to work the best. Nearly all closets of this nature function best using a number of wire closet shelves, but a few hooks and small bins should help keep smaller things from getting lost or looking cluttered. But a combination of shelves plus a small hanging rod is often functional too.

Keep the most used things at eye level for quick access such as bed sheets or bathroom towels that are used every day or each week. Other common stuff to store in a linen closet are out-of-season jackets or blankets. It's best to keep these in suitable storage containers or bags to keep them clean.

If you're also putting cleaning up products and equipment in your linen closet (iron, ironing board, or even a vacuum), where you put them is dependent upon whether you've young kids. For those who do have children about, put the cleansing items up high and out of reach or better still, fit a safety lock on the door.

A nice touch to enhance your linen closet is always to hang lavender sachets or another fragrant item to keep your bed linens smelling nice and fresh.
